Volunteer Positions
The Conference Championship Volunteer Coordinator function is being handled by Arden Park this year. Each Team will fill in all the cells in their spreadsheet and submit those entries to Daneen Bennigson by 5:00 pm, Monday, July 18, 2012. It is imperative that all slots be filled prior to showing up at the meet. Not having the cells filled is the surest way to slow down Championships. Please submit the updated spreadsheets to Arden Park by emailing them to Daneen Bennigson at daneenk@yahoo.com. If you have any questions regarding the spreadsheets, contact Daneen at 916-996-3456.
Each team will have their own Volunteer Coordinator(s) check in their volunteers for their assigned shifts and pass out the shift stickers/labels so they can enter the closed deck. It will also be their responsibility of the Volunteer Coordinator to find a person to work a shift if the person assigned did not check in or report to their position.

Meet / Facility Overview
The Woodland Community Pool is a 19-lane pool. We will run 10 lanes for preliminaries and finals at the South end of the pool – which is the deep end near the diving boards. Both sides of the pool will have starting blocks for the swimmers. 25 yard races will start from the West side of the pool; 50/100/200 yard races will start from the East side of the pool. Two lanes next to Lane 10 will be considered dead lanes – no swimming – so as to reduce waves impacting the swimmer in lane 10. The north lanes (there will be 7) will be used for warm-ups and cool downs. No diving in those lanes will be allowed during the meet.
Relays and finals make up last segment of each day. Ready bench will be on the pool deck at the Northeast end of the pool in front of the warm-up lanes.
Each team is assigned a large area at the facility for the team and parents to sit together. We will have a closed deck with Marshalls.
Programs, T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, Tanks, etc. will be available for purchase as well as swimming gear. There will be a full service Snack bar.
See last page for a layout of the Woodland Facility.

Eligibility
IV. Entries and Eligibility (Section 4 (IV) from Exhibit B of Bylaws)
A. A League participant must swim in at least two events in at least two League dual meets during the regular season to qualify for participating in a championship meet. For purposes of complying with this requirement, it does not matter whether the swimmer swam in a relay or individual event, or whether the swimmer participated in a scored or non-scored heat of an event. For purposes of this Section IV.A., the term "League dual meet" is defined as any dual meet occurring on a Saturday between two teams as defined in Article 3 of these bylaws. In addition to the foregoing requirement, a copy of a Northern California Swim League Application For Swimmer Registration must be submitted to the League Registrar by the League participant’s Team no later than July 1 of the then current regular season to qualify for participating in a championship meet. A copy of a birth certificate for each League participant must be obtained by the team and provided when needed.
B. In order for a swimmer to enter an event, the swimmer must have a seeding time taken from either a League meet, a practice meet or a time trial conducted by a Team official or coach. The swimmer's best-recorded time in each event must be utilized for championship seeding purposes. In simple terms, entries with "No Times" will not be allowed.
Entry Courtesy
League Officer's Entry Policy Statement
Due to the size of each of our conferences, and the limited time available on any given Championship weekend, each team is encouraged to enter swimmers in the events which they have a reasonable chance of completing a 'valid legal swim' with a 'valid time'. If a swimmer is habitually DQ'd on a particular stroke or event (such as the 100 IM), the league would encourage the coaching staff to use swim time in their own pool to work those issues out, and not view Championships as a place to work on those issues with the swimmer. It has become apparent that many teams do not DQ swimmers who are not in the first heat during the summer dual meets. This leads to 'valid times' for swimmers who really do not have 'valid legal swims'.
Team’s Meet Entries
Computer Operations is being handled by Teresa Folsom of Sunrise Sharks this year. Each team is to submit their Meet Entries and Athlete Roster to Teresa Folsom by 6:00 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2012. She will seed the meet and send the MM backup file to each team’s computer person for review and any changes.
Email the meet entries to both email addresses:
teresa.folsom@ftb.ca.gov; folsom21@sbcglobal.net
If you have any questions, Teresa can be reached at:
(916) 845-3449 (work M – Th 5am – 3:30pm)
(916) 275-5339 (cell)
Championship Program Ad Sales
Each team is responsible for a minimum of $200 ad sales. Everything over the $200 minimum is subsequently split with the team that sold the Ad. The splits are paid out at the beginning of the follow swim year. Both Corporate and Personal Ads will be placed in all five conference championship programs. This is a great way for a business to get exposure to the families of around 5000 swimmers covering five counties over a two weekend period.
Each team should have one team coordinator that gathers all the Ads for that team and turns them into to Steffi Jones. Both Personal and Corporate Ads are due on Friday, July 6, 2012. No late submissions will be accepted.
Steffi’s Contact Information is as follows:
Email: steffi.jones@gmail.com
Email Title: NCSL Championship Advertisement
Phone: (916) 303-0068
Ad-Sales Pricing & Ad Sizes
Full Page Ad - $300
Half Page Ad - $165
Quarter Page Ad - $90
Eighth Page Ad - $50
Ads will only be accepted in pdf format. When submitting the ads, make sure that you include your team name, your email and phone number and size of ads. Do not send any checks. The league will bill the teams.
